Need Feedback?

If you would like suggestions and feedback on your writing, please send the first 500 - 1000 words of your story to ataviststrilogy [at] gmail [dot] com. I focus on providing feedback geared toward improving your writing style as a whole.

The trend I'm seeing with younger writers is that of telling versus showing. Many of you will receive comments about how to actively expose information rather than introducing it up-front.

Please download this wonderful guide to writing by Crawford Kilian. It's short, sweet, and will become your writing Bible.

Advice on Novel Writing by Crawford Kilian

Feedback will be emailed back to you in a Word .doc format and will utilize highlighting schemes. Yellow indicates a passage that I've re-written, green indicates statements that do not flow/fit with the context of the scene, blue indicates grammatical/spelling errors, and dialogue/content that is informally phrased will be highlighted in purple. Unless otherwise stated, you can expect feedback within seven days.

Please use SUGGESTIONS: [YOUR USERNAME/NAME] as the subject header. Please send your excerpt in a .doc or .docx format.
