NANOWRIMO, DARKNESS SURROUNDING RE-RELEASE & OTHER NEWS

Well, long time no chat! Or blog, whatever you'd like to call this. You can blame it all on National Novel Writing Month (add me as a writing buddy here!). So far, I've hammered out an average of 5,000 words per day. Well, that was true until yesterday, which was when the massive headache began its siege over my center of creativity. I wrote a measly 1,500 yesterday, and I've written even less today -- a whopping 500. Ouch. Since I'm in such a head-throbbing funk, I decided to take the time to catch up on other things, such as blogging, working on website stuff, cleaning up my space, and writing some character development outlines. Now that I'm nearing the home stretch of the third book of The Atavists Trilogy, I really need to have my goals for each character defined to a "T." I suppose my characters are hosting an "Occupy" movement in my head to protest how boring Warmness on the Soul is so far.
Benny: Damn straight, you control freak! We're rebelling against your boring plot line! Action, I tell you! ACCCCTIOOOON!
Todd: Respect our authoritah, for we are figments of your imagination with kick-ass naaaames!
On another note, I'm going to completely redesign the cover of Darkness Surrounding. I'll also fix all of the typos that have been brought to my attention (see this thread if you have any others to add!) and will add several features, including a table of contents, a pronunciation guide (Albuquerque, Zanni, Garr, Atavists -- anything that I've heard mispronounced before), a brief history of New Mexico, and possibly a small sample of Streets. You can expect this second edition sometime between December and January. Streets is looking more like a March release, so stay patient and refrain from throwing tomatoes and other icky, healthy things at me. The wait will be worth it, I promise!

Something fun: I saw tonight's episode of Once Upon A Time, and Ms. Swan (Jennifer Morrison) looks and sounds a lot like Zanni! I don't know why trying to find a cast for a movie that will probably never exist is so important to me, but, well, it's what keeps me happy.

The pictures above don't do her resemblance to Zanni justice, so watch the trailer below to see her in action!

OH MY GOSH. NO KIDDING. I was watching that show (finished the third episode two minutes ago) , and the whole time I was thinking she was Zanni! NO JOKE HERE. Dead serious.

Okay, that was a bit overload.

Anyway, Ive got a feeling I'm going to like Benny and Todd. :D

It'll still be mostly black, but there'll be a real leaf on the cover (and "Zanni" will be holding it!)
